Çasonando to Record

Trio Çasonando, which first played together last January, will soon record a demo of original songs and arrangements. The group members, Eddy Carvajal (bass, lead vocals) and Nils Wekstein (bongó, vocals) have been working with David for several months to perfect the group’s sound, which is at once traditional and modern. The group will record mostly Cuban standards (”Chan chan,” “Harina de maíz”), but the arrangements incorporate jazz, afropop, and timba influences.
